W-1Student should have basic knowledge in the history of art and contemporary culture. He should have the skills to acquire information independently and be familiar with the basic relationships between contemporary culture and society, politics and local identities. He should also participate activly in contemporary culture.

C-1The course aims to familiarize students with selected issues of contemporary culture in its relation to other areas of reality, such as ecology, national identity, language, politics or the sphere of symbols in the visual landscape. The aim of the subject is to broaden the general picture of the functioning of contemporary culture. The subject enables the development of critical tools for observing social and cultural phenomena and for shaping a transparent and consistent, individual position against the challenges of modern times.
